Our Client
Our client is in the business of manufacturing glass through to installation and watching their glass come to life, the secret to their success is through their innovation, technology and dedication to their customers and people.

The Opportunity
The Shift Supervisor role works together with the Operations Manager in achieving key business objectives. The role will run the production shift according to production schedules and is responsible for manning to the production needs of that shift across all manufacturing areas.


Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the efficient running of shifts; Shift follows production plans and assign work accordingly to ensure the shift reaches maximum throughput
  • Regular monitoring the productivity of each line and ensure the shift has enough supplies to keep the production running
  • Monitor wastage on a regular basis and takes corrective actions where there is excess
  • Ensure production lines are running the entire shift without downtime. Where there are maintenance issues – these are escalated through to the engineering team as early as possible for quick resolve
  • Ensures staff follow quality standards and investigating issues on the line or any quality issues
  • Work with the production Manager in the development of staff, ensuring staff are aware of production targets and know what they need to do achieve them
  • Develop a team culture to motivate staff where every team member is clear on what they need to do and actively engaged
 
What you'll bring to the role:
  • A tertiary qualification or Mechanical engineering qualification is desirable
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience essential with previous success in developing or coaching others
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferably within Glass manufacturing
  • Excellent numerical skills – testing will be part of your application process
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to think on your feet and work under pressure is critical for this role
