Are you a Christchurch based, experienced insurance broker looking for an opportunity to shape your own path?
OCG are working in a New Zealand owner manager insurance brokerage as they look for a motivated Commercial Insurance Broker to manage and grow an established insurance book, servicing both commercial and domestic clients.
Our client is a 40+ staff nation wide New Zealand brokerage with an excellent reputation across the SME market specialising in sectors such as forestry, rural, transport and aviation.
This will be fully remote initially, so will be a unique chance to become the face of the business Christchurch, with the potential to expand into opening and leading their first Christchurch office in the future.
About the Role:
- As the sole representative in Christchurch, you’ll enjoy the autonomy of a standalone role while benefiting from the support of their experienced processing and claims teams.
- You will be managing and servicing a current mixed portfolio of commercial and domestic clients worth over 100k NZD.
- Identifying opportunities to grow the book of business and build long-term client relationships.
- Providing tailored insurance solutions and professional advice to clients.
- Growing the company reputation in the South Island along with the Wanaka based Broker – with a view to hire another couple of brokers in the area over time.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in commercial and domestic insurance broking.
- Level 5 Qualified
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand’s insurance market and regulations.
- A self-starter with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a wider team.
