Business Development Manager - Insurance

Permanent | | |
100% Kiwi owned business looking to bring in a new Business Development Manager to manage and build their key 7-year relationship with a New Zealand bank.

A personable mid-sized business with excellent track record of looking after their employees, benefits include team bonus, flexible hours, hybrid working, private health care and extra annual leave over Christmas.

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building relationships with all team members and clients of your chosen patch of Auckland for this major bank.

Once strong relationships are built with the banking team, you will be generating new business by being the go-to insurance person for all their client’s needs. You will be physically present to sit in on client meetings to provide robust advice and respond to live enquiries. You will partly manage some of these queries yourself to build your own small book of business, whilst ensuring a strong pipeline of business gets referred to the advisory team at head office.

How you build relationships with bankers is down to the individual but can include sitting in on weekly team meetings, insurance presentations, lunches and networking events. Making this an extremely varied role with workdays being split between head office, bank branches, offsite with clients and working from home.

They are a great business to join if you’re fed up with the restraints of some of the larger corporates, as they are still owner managed and trust their employees to perform without micromanaging. They’ve seen a lot of organic growth in the North Island and will continue to grow the team, creating management opportunities for those interested.

You will have at least 3 years in the insurance field and be level 5 qualified. You must be able to acquire new business and develop new relationships quickly whilst maintaining the current book effectively.
